Alison is a highly sought after tutor who found the best way to serve the many students who need her help is through small-group online tutoring. If you're a skeptical parent, scarred from witnessing your child struggle with virtual learning during COVID, read on to learn how this is different and why it works.
Community matters. Learning along with and from other students who struggle with the same things you do helps students feel less alone. They get to meet other kids who have the same difficulties at school, both academically and socially, mentally, and emotionally. Having this community of like-minded friends motivates students to show up and try their best. Scientific research in learning methods from Harvard proved that small group instruction improves academic achievement, relationships with classmates and faculty, and promotes psychological well-being.
Alison has spoken to hundreds of parents who are understandably scarred from the experience of watching their children struggle and suffer through the e-learning models of the COVID days. Enrolling in a small-group session with Systematic Spelling is NOT that. Groups are limited to five students to ensure individualized attention. Every student is engaged in activity during 2x week Zoom lessons, so no one is left out or confused. Additionally, "office hours" are available on Fridays for students to receive more individualized attention and support.
